Work pages I've added here

OK, I also have this list on my user page, but it can't hurt to announce them here as they get finished.

If there's one on the list you like, please let me know!

  • How Many Sixes does Adolf Nazi have to Roll? (Alternate History about the age-old question whether Adolf Nazi would be able to not just win World War Two, but creating an empire that actually lasts for some time)
  • MBTI Prayers (a joke based on, you guess it, the famous Myers-Briggs Temperament Indicator)
  • Midworld (an in-story series of High Fantasy doorstoppers from the Chaos Timeline)

My Pet Peeve Tropes

  • Take That, Critics: I utterly despise this trope. It's the creators unfairly portraying their critics in the most unflattering manner possible rather than actually listening to criticism and learning from it. An example that really infuriates me is Animaniacs, which (both in the original version and the reboot) portrayed their critics in the most viscious manner possible while doing absolutely NOTHING about said criticism. The reason this pisses me off is that people keep PRAISING Animaniacs for it rather than call them up on their bullshit.
  • Hollywood Autism: It paints a picture on audiences about autistic people that's as far removed from the truth as possible.
  • God Is Evil, The Fundamentalist, Religion of Evil, Outgrown Such Silly Superstition…

Complete Monster Removal Proposal: Ned Burner

I was reading the Complete Monster Page for Grand Theft Auto and I noticed this guy;

    • That reporter mentioned weren't a saint either. Ned Burner, posing as a priest in a confession booth, got Toni (who was seeking redemption for his sins, ironically) to wreak havoc on the streets in a fire truck (killing countless civilians) so he could be the first on the scene to write a scoop about it, kill 3 celebrities who gave interviews to rival media institutions, kill a federal witness to a doping scandal and pull off a diamond heist. Damn, Toni Cipriani probably commits the greatest canonical atrocities of any GTA protagonist to date thanks to the orders of these two.

I've never played any of the Grand Theft Auto games but the entry makes it sound l…

Complete Monster Removal Proposal: Ronan the Accuser

I'm putting up Ronan the Accuser for a revote. Why, you may ask? Thanos made Ronan look like an absolute amateur in pretty much every aspect. Some of you may draw the resource argument card now. But I honestly think that it doesn't make a difference. While Ronan might only have acquired one of the six Infinity Gems, one can still judge him on what he was planning to do with it in comparison to Thanos, as one Infinity Gem is still enough to cause untold destruction. Ronan was planning on committing genocide on exactly one planet. Thanos....wiped out half the population of the entire damn universe! And yes, once again, Ronan only had 1/6 of the Gauntlet, but he was still capable of causing a huge amount of destruction and still just went fo…

Complete Monster Proposal: Branka

  • 1 What is the work?
  • 2 Who is she and what has she done?
  • 3 Mitigating factors
  • 4 Heinous standard
  • 5 Conclusion

Dragon Age is a western RPG series set in a Middle Earth style fantasy world, populated by humans, elves and dwarves and plagued by Orc-type monsters called darkspawn. However it's MUCH darker than Lord of The Rings, to the point of rivalling Berserk and Game of Thrones. In Dwarven society ancestors are worshipped and living dwarves can obtain the title of Paragon At the time of the game there's one living Paragon, the bad news is she's the candidate, and one of the most evil women in video game history. Her name is Branka.

Branka rose to the status of Paragon a little over a year after her marriage to party member Oghren when she invented a …

Complete Monster proposals - Adder and Kindle, Advance Wars series

Recently, on vanilla TV Tropes, the cleanup thread for the Complete Monster trope handled the Nintendo Wars series, or more specifically, the Advance Wars games, while conveniently ignoring Battalion Wars by the way. They have handled the Big Bad of the first 3 Advance Wars games, Sturm and Von Bolt. I have no active argument against Sturm even if I don't feel his punch, but Von Bolt, oh I'll get to him when I do. Of course, the thread thinks that two certain characters fail the heinous standard.

I beg to differ. Very much.

What's the work?

Nintendo Wars is a turn-based strategy game where the player commands their modern units such as tanks and fighter planes around. The story, added in the Advance Wars games, revolves around nations going t…

Game Breaker proposal - Spear weapons, Secret of Evermore

I thought I'd go ahead and do something different for those wondering why my call out of Mangs currently thumbnails a Deleted Line on vanilla TV Tropes.

  • 1 What's the work?
  • 2 What are the Spears?
  • 3 What do they do?
  • 4 Balance standard
  • 5 Verdict

Secret of Evermore is an Action RPG for the Super NES, its gameplay taking clear inspiration from that of Secret of Mana. The player is in command of 2 characters: A Boy And His Dog. The Boy's survival is paramount, but the Dog is capable of heavy lifting to keep the Boy safe.

Along the way, the player obtains some weapons with which to use against the baddies plaguing the world of Evermore. They come in a few weapon families, and one of them just happens to be our candidate as the dominant one: the Spears.

The Horn…

CM proposal - Countess Ingrid, Battalion Wars

I may as well get this idea off of my chest, considering how long I have been holding onto it.

What's the work?

Battalion Wars is a Real Time Tactics/Third Person Shooter hybrid game that is directly inspired by the Nintendo Wars series despite the clear gameplay shift. The story involves two nations, the Western Frontier and the Tundran Territories (stereotypes of America and Russia respectively), being at a cold war with each other that ultimately heats up. Behind the closed doors within the chaos, the prior leader of Tundra, Tsar Gorgi, had been making deals with Kaiser Vlad, the ruler of a Germany/Transylvania hybrid style nation called Xylvania, leading to Xylvania to collect from Frontier and Tundra. Frontier and Tundra ultimately put as…

happy mandshake survived

A final version special import is better than none at all! Glad it got grabbed between the mass wipeouts...

That work being undone makes me sad. I get wanting clean quality but it's a slippery slope into a deletionist purity spiral. Messy can be beautiful sometimes... dirt for seeds to grow.

Woobie Proposal - Secret of Evermore's Hero

I may as well provide a Woobie proposal to get something going. Once again using Secret of Evermore as an example.

What's the work?

Secret of Evermore is an Action RPG made by Square USA back in 1995. The game starts off with the hints of its backstory from the autumn of 1965, which is 30 years prior to the game's general events, where an experiment concludes but the man behind the experiment, revealed later or in the manual to be one Sidney Ruffleberg, realized something went wrong before he could get the opportunity to fix it. Cut to the present day, which of course is 1995 for the game, and we have our candidate.

Who is he?

The unnamed boy, who will be called the Boy, is a B-movie aficionado owning a dog who he brings along to the films. The…

MB Proposal - Jedah (Fire Emblem)

Okay, enough with CM proposals at least for now. The next step is to check the MB cases. This one, if successful, will be a CM/MB crossover here. (Which are rare, but a FEW are "magnificent enough they can go around this".)

About half a year ago, he was cut (by a non-mod). Now, let's see IF he stays or not.

  • 1 The Work
  • 2 The Character
  • 3 Is he smart?
  • 4 Is he a bastard?

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

"Many untold years ago, there were two sibling gods: the brother Duma and the sister Mila. The two had conflicting philosophies on how humanity should live, and their disagreements led to them fighting endlessly. Eventually they made a pact to end their conflict, which led to them dividing the continent of Valentia i…

CM Proposal - Major Ulube

My second proposal. It's about someone I added 1 day prior, but removed recently to discuss.

  • 1 The Work
  • 2 The Candidate
  • 3 What has he done
  • 4 Heinous Standard
  • 5 Freudian Excuse
  • 6 Any Mitigating Factor
  • 7 Verdict

"Mobile Fighter G Gundam (Kidou Budouten G Gundam, lit. "Mobile Fighting Legend G Gundam") is the first Alternate Universe in the Gundam franchise. Notable as a significant departure from the normal Gundam saga in that it was essentially a Super Robot show. Every Gundam series before and after has been essentially the prime examples of the Real Robot Genre. G Gundam has only a few mild relations to the other series besides the name "Gundam." It also takes a lot of inspiration from the Shōnen genre. Part of this radical change is that Yoshiyuki Tomi…

Edens Zero from "Mashimaverse".

From TV-Tropes:

"Shiki Granbell has spent most of his days raised by robots in an abandoned theme park on a forgotten island, dreaming of new places to explore and friends to make. His life takes a sharp turn when the park receives its first visitors in 100 years: a wannabe web celebrity named Rebecca and her talking blue cat-bot, Happy. One devastating betrayal and newly forged friendship later, the two travelers decide to introduce Shiki to the outside world by taking him with them on their boat—wh…

Complete Monster candidate: Camellia's evil twin, Secret of Evermore

I may as well make another example Effort Post for you guys to work with. It does help that I myself am not sure the candidate quite clears the heinous standard.

What's the work?

Secret of Evermore again. You can see what it is about on my earlier EP for the Big Bad himself here. A key theme for the purposes of this is that the Boy and Dog are doing what they can to survive in a strange world while trying to find their way home to Podunk. Their travels eventually take them to Gothica, which involves a story arc of its own and, of course, our candidate.

Who is the candidate?

The candidate is Camellia's evil twin, henceforce to be called White Queen after naming conventions provided in the game's ROM data. She was created by Carltron, the Big Bad…

Complete Monster candidate: Secret of Evermore's Big Bad

I think I can post here, quite safely, my candidate for the Complete Monster trope.

What's the work?

Secret of Evermore is an Action RPG for the Super NES made in 1995 by Square USA. The star is A Boy And His Dog, both with no sign of clear official names, who live in an American town called Podunk in 1995, and after a series of events, they end up having a machine in a long desolate mansion teleport them into a strange world called Evermore. They have to fight their way out of Evermore, which is filled with dangers such as a tar swamp full of maggots, a desert that will wear down its travelers, and sewers full of damaging contaminated water, among other potentially confusing places. If the Boy runs out of HP, it's Game Over for obvious reason…
